This week I had the privilege of a private tour of the Crow Museum of Asian Art in Richardson, TX. Unlike traditional chronological displays, the curator grouped pieces by material, an interesting approach that adds depth and context. While the museum spans 70,000 square feet, the collection is so extensive that it rotates to preserve pieces from light exposure, meaning you will never see the same museum twice w/repeat visits. The modern architecture is stunning (same architect who did the Perot Museum). The curator includes interactive elements, and their partnership with the DMA brings interesting temporary exhibits.
