iPhone and iPad Users, Meet the iStick

Meet the iStick, the USB drive solution for iPads and iPhones. I participated in their kickstarter campaign and am thrilled to now have one because the iStick is a winner for mac mobile device users- a major space savor. This tiny little gem, with the help of the accompanying (free) app, allows you to easily, quickly and safely move data between computers, iPhones, iPads and iPod touches without the need for Internet, wireless networks or the Cloud where hackers and others (e.g. 3rd party server operators) may gain access.

 We all have used a USB flash drive at least once in our lives. They are great for transferring large files between computers, require minimal setup and the transfer speed is much faster than the fastest Cloud storage. It doesn’t require the Internet to work and your data is never sent through 3rd party servers. The USB flash drive is great but it doesn’t work with your favorite Apple iDevices. Until now.

LIGHTNING CONNECTOR – Just slide the switch on the iStick to switch the USB connector to an Apple approved Lightning connector.
DOWNLOAD PHOTOS – Free up space on your iPhone by backing up all your photos, videos and files to the high capacity iStick. No need to pay for recurring online Cloud storage subscription.
PLAYBACK MUSIC – You can transfer music from the computer to an iPod touch or playback directly from the iStick. No need for lengthy synchronization or pay for streaming services.
STREAM MOVIES – Stream tons of movies directly from the iStick onto your iPad, anytime and anywhere you want, even on planes. No Internet or wireless network required.
SAFE & SECURE – iStick is safe and secure since no data is sent through 3rd party services or transferred through the Internet or Cloud where hackers and others (like server operators) may gain access.

The only complaint I have seen is from a user who had run out of space on his iPhone, so he didn’t have room for the app-  which is a personal issue rather than a device issue.

Great for everyday use and a must for travel, especially if you take lots of photos or do not want to incur international wireless/roaming fees to share your data to another device. The Kickstarter campaign is over, but you can still get an iStick with your choice of storage levels.
