I hope everybody had a wonderful holiday weekend, and for those of you not in the US, a lovely regular weekend. Labor Day marks the end of summer and sends us back to the routine of school or work. I recently came across this Sophia Loren quote, which seems appropriate for this seasonal shift. Have you ever noticed that Sophia Loren, with her bombshell good looks, has never been the type to jump in front of cameras or become full of herself? Despite her numerous gifts of talent and beauty, she refrained from letting ego get in her way, opting for discipline and modesty instead. Her talents have been widely recognized, including the Academy Award for Best Actress, first artist to win an Oscar for a foreign language performance, and the record for having earned six David di Donatello Awards for Best Actress (the most ever received). Aside from the Academy Award, she has won a Grammy Award, five special Golden Globes, a BAFTA Award, a Laurel Award, the Honorary Academy Award in 1991, the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievements, one of many such awards. Amazing that an industry icon who is often listed among the world’s all time most attractive women has maintained a modest view of her own importance- exhibiting strength, discipline, humility, and class. How very rare in today’s world. Cheers to the inspiring inner and outer beauty of Sophia Loren.
