London Calling…

beaumont hotel

I’m on my way to London for design immersion. I will be there during the week of The London Design Festival, which takes place 17-25 September to celebrate and promote London as the design capital of the world and as the gateway to the international creative community. Events that I plan to attend cover the range of classic to contemporary:

decorex on

If your design taste veers toward contemporary, DECOREX will be worth following. See the Decorex preview here, and be sure to follow my Instagram and Facebook feeds for interesting finds along the way.

Lapada Art & Antiques Fair London

Antique lovers, there will be something for you too… watch my feeds for coverage of the super high end LAPADA  Art & Antiques Fair.

galerie magazine

If you have an unquenchable thirst for art and design…

What will I be reading on the long flight to London? The incredibly cool new Galerie Magazine, which I highly recommend to any art and design lovers. Its distinct coverage of the art world inspires and delivers the finest in art, design, people, architecture, home and destinations…  the beautiful pages of this sophisticated magazine transport us to the splendid world of artful living, with the bonus of bios of artists featured in the design articles. Consider this magazine a necessary continuing-ed if you are a designer or collector of art, if you attend fine art fairs and auctions, frequent museums and galleries, visit designer showrooms, love interior design, decorative arts, and architecture, luxury fashion and fine jewelry, private aviation, yachting and sailing, international travel, equestrian events, philanthropy, wine and culinary experiences… Get the drift? Galerie has the bases completely covered for living well.

After London is the What’s New What’s Next event in New York’s New York Design Center, with a packed agenda of Design and Publishing Icons participating in informative panels throughout the building showrooms all day on September 22. Of special interest is the 6:15pm event in the Global Views showroom, where Ann Gish and Hearst Design Group Editorial Director Newell Turner will discuss how memory, emotion and our senses are the ingredients of one’s signature style. These two will share their personal stories and examples that demonstrate this theory- which ought to be VERY interesting… September 22 6:15 pm NYDC #613

Stay tuned for coverage of all of the above…
