Wishing you a Merry Christmas with your loved ones. I don’t know about you, but I think Santa might deserve something a little heartier than milk after endless stops that involve assembling complicated toys, the stress of NOT tracking fireplace ashes into homes, staying on schedule, and keeping warm. After all, we DO want him to feel very comfortable and welcome around here~ that’s our tradition anyway.
On a more sentimental note, Christmas reminds me of an incredibly thoughtful tradition that my Grandfather started when I was very young. With the help of a few cultured experts, he chose a beautiful china pattern for me, and added to it every year for Christmas, giving me a head start into the world of entertaining. Basically, I had a china registry at a very young age- what a brilliant thought- why wait until you are married to collect beautiful things. He is no longer with us but his memory remains strong. Whenever I think of fine china, I think of him. Even at that young age, I was cognizant of how special this was, but I seem to appreciate it more as the years go by. I treasure the gifts and feel the love when I use this china.
I hope you are embracing your family traditions, creating new ones- and capturing the moments.
Cheers,
and have a very merry one.
