If you have ever tasted orange butter, your mouth will be watering pavlovian style as you read this post. It is so easy to make and memorably delicious. It will upgrade any breakfast- is great on croissants, biscuits, toast, pancakes, you name it. If you are not a fan of orange, you can always make strawberry butter as well. I will give you two ways to make Orange Butter, one quicker than the other.
1 stick butter, room temp
3 tsp powdered sugar
1 tbsp honey
1/4 tsp vanilla
zest of one orange
1) beat butter until light and fluffy
2) add honey, vanilla, sugar, blend with mixer until well combined
3) add orange zest* last, folding gently into the mix
4) transfer to serving dish
5) if any remains, store in airtight container*tip: whenever a recipe calls for zest, hold the zester over the the mixing bowl and zest directly into the butter (or cream, etc), so you gain the enhanced flavor benefits of the aromatic citrus oils…
