Happy New Year

Let’s toast to the new year. If you are like me, you may find it challenging to come up with the perfect impromptu toast when occasion warrants one… so I have chosen a few from a wonderful book of Toasts to help ring in the New Year, an especially good book to have on hand if you plan to have the kind of year that will include reasons to celebrate!

Champagne at a party, New years eve, champagne toast

”Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better man.” -Benjamin Franklin

Chateau Latour, fine wine, crystal wine glasses

“In the year ahead, May we treat our friends with kindness and our enemies with generosity.”

May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.  -submitted by Lynda Quintero-Davids

New Years Eve, Table Setting, New Years Eve Party, dinner party

”May the best of this year be the worst of next.”

  1. I have two Courtney…hope you don’t mind :-)

May we all work smarter, not harder.

    …and…

May we all take the time to do nothing.

Thanks for the other ideas, Courtney! Happy New Year to you and yours. Thank you 2013, and welcome 2014!

  2. Your toast makes for a perfect resolution for the new year: build on 2013 to make the best of the 2013, the worst of 2014 – keep growing, keep improving and keep building on successes. Continue to raise the bar in everything one does. Happy New Year!

  3. Collect “moments”, not things!!

  4. My Daddy’s favorite toast was
    Good Health, Wealth and Happiness
    and time to enjoy them.
Happy New Year to you and Bo and I
Hope to see You this year.
    Much love, Millicent

  5. May your days be unguarded by a joyous, generous heart and your nights be secure in the peace of knowing that you loved!

  6. This is really nice Courtney. May we (as a community) continue to inspire each other in the coming year!

  7. “May friendship, like wine, Improve as time advances, and may we always have old wine, old friends, and young cares”.
This is from a book of my great great grandfather dated 1903 and called Up-To-Date TOASTS for all occasions compiled by E.C. Lewis.

  8. Maria Palomo says:

“May we all feel happy and contented, healthy and strong, safe and protected and living with ease…”
    Irish blessing
    Happy New Year!
