Holly Hunt Showroom, Dallas

Holly Hunt Dallas Showroom Opening on www.CourtneyPrice.com

This week is Dallas Market week, so for those of you who can’t make it, I will take you on a virtual shopping spree at one of my favorite Dallas contemporary resources- The Holly Hunt Showroom. The photo above is from their opening last September, and what you see is the first impression you get when you enter this gorgeous space. The boldly patterned Christian Astuguevieille rug plays nicely with the fantastic Gems light fixtures by Kevin Riley, above, showing that Holly Hunt utilizes all design components as art forms.

Let’s take a virtual walk through the rest of the showroom, highlighting a few of my favorite pieces: [Read more…]

Interview of Tompkins Lloyd Designers Clair Tompkins and Julie Lloyd on www.CourtneyPrice.com

You may recall Clair Tompkins and Julie Lloyd, the talented duo of Tompkins Lloyd Interiors, from my Huffington Post piece earlier this year. Recently I sat down with these two stylish designers for an interview about their interior design work. If you have seen their work you will be all eyes and ears as to what inspires them.  The projects of Tompkins Lloyd Interiors are interwoven with mystery, discovery and contradiction- as you walk through any home that they have designed, you might find yourself stopping to slowly take in and deconstruct the room in which you stand. Their design vibe is reflective of their upbeat panache – their willingness to take risks is a refreshing rebellion against convention. The best way I can describe their look is to compare it to Lenny Kravitz’s design. I mean that as high praise. Their look is always fresh, inspired, and promises to surprise in some unexpected way… [Read more…]

Hampton Designer Showhouse

Hampton Showhouse on www.CourtneyPrice.com

The Hampton Designer Showhouse, now in its fourteenth year, is a showcase for America’s premier design talent. The Showhouse opened with a Gala Preview Cocktail Party on Saturday, July 19, 2014 and will run until Labor Day, Monday, September 1, 2014 in Bridgehampton, New York.

The Gala Preview Cocktail event was quite a party and offered the chance to meet the talent behind the design. This house is – enormous. I will give you a tour of the highlights rather than a room by room tour, because, like I said, this is a LOT of house… to the tune of 8 bedrooms, 9 full bathrooms, 3 half baths, pool house, gym, man cave, 2.38 acres, you get the drift. Spoiler Alert: the house is for sale for a mere $13,495,000. Now I know I have gotten your attention. Let’s go take a peek at some show house highlights-  [Read more…]

Ralph Pucci interview on www.CourtneyPrice.com

While in New York, I had the opportunity to have a delightful conversation with design icon Ralph Pucci, along with a personal tour of  his swank appointment-only showroom which occupies multiple floors of a building in the Flatiron district.  Ralph Pucci is a fascinating person to talk to, surprisingly modest and unassuming for the span of his accomplishments. He is an enthusiastic conversationalist, both inspiring and inspired- he clearly processes things on a heightened level, using all senses and intuition in a way that enables him to create the trends rather than follow them. His story is interesting – [Read more…]
